COCARIVE is headquartered in Carmo de Minas, strategically located in the South of Minas Gerais, in particular micro-region hillside of Serra da Mantiqueira; its area of coverage comprises, besides Carmo de Minas, the cities of Olímpio Noronha, Jesuânia, Lambari, Campanha, Cambuquira, Três Corações, Conceição do Rio Verde, Caxambú, Baependi Cruzília, Soledade de Minas, São Lourenço, Pouso Alto, Itanhandú, Virginia, Dom Viçoso, Cristina, Maria da Fé, Conceição das Pedras and Pedralva.
This territory is privileged as it holds a set of ideal and required conditions to the cultivation of fine coffees, such as naturally fertile soil, mild climate, ideal altitudes varying between 900 and 1,500 meters and excellent pluviometric indexes with well distributed rainfall throughout the year. All this, coupled with the experience and dedication of the producers who make the coffee culture in the region a centuries-old tradition.
Carmo de Minas is located on the famous Circuito das Águas of southern Minas Gerais, approximately equidistant 330 km from Belo Horizonte, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in southeastern Brazil. The Circuito das Águas (Water Circuit), represented mainly by the cities of São Lourenço, Caxambú, Lambari and Cambuquira, is recognized internationally for both quality and variety of its abundant mineral waters, some with proven medicinal effects, whose natural deposits along with the exceptional weather and rare beauty of the mountains constitute a strong attractive for tourists both from Brazil and from around the world.
