Certification is the formal statement issued by those who have credibility and legal authority to do so.
It must also be issued by someone, or some institution that has public faith, i.e., who has credibility with the buying market.
The certification, in the same way a brand, ensures the quality level of the product to the consumer. For consumers, certification guides on buying products and allows them to check the quality and safety of food and the production process.
It must be understood as an economic instrument in order to differentiate products and producers.
COCARIVE, in order to service its members, works with 4 certifications:
FAIR TRADE: targeted for small producers, aims to establish direct contact between producer and buyer; certifies ownership.
BSCA - certifies the quality and sustainability of coffee; certifies the property or the product.
Mantiqueira de Minas – "Indication of Origin": in addition to certifying the origin of the product, other attributes are also included in this label, such as quality and socio-environmental responsibility; certifies the coffee lot.
Certifica Minas - A certification of international recognition and grants accreditation to the properties.
