| COOPERATIVE OF COFFEE GROWERS

   The Regional Cooperative of Coffee Growers of Vale do Rio Verde Ltd. was founded on May 7, 1961, thanks to the entrepreneurial spirit of unity and of pioneering farmers from Carmo de Minas and neighbor cities. Their objective was to transform the local coffee production into a point of reference, in both productivity and excellence, in producing high quality coffee, thereby promoting the development of this important micro-region of southern Minas Gerais. This region is located the slopes of Serra da Mantiqueira, near the headwaters of the Rio Verde. For the exuberance of it’s very fertile and generous lands, and boosted by excellent mild climate, the region has long been gaining ground as the main production area of fine coffees.
   Currently with 661 members, COCARIVE receives in their warehouses an average annual production of 150,000 bags of Coffea Arabica, among Natural and Pulped Natural, entrusted for preparation and marketing.
   It also has direct and ongoing collaboration of its 65 employees, with various levels of professional training, among which 3 agronomists who provide essential technical assistance service directed to the coffee farmers, in fieldwork, diffusing and enhancing modern cultivation techniques so that the fields get better rates of both, productivity and quality in perfect harmony with nature and the environment.
   For reprocessing and preparation of coffees arriving in their warehouses, COCARIVE offers modern and appropriate facilities, which are essential for the processing of virtually the entire production of its members, from pre-cleaning and picking to the electronic selection of coffee beans.
   Its store provides specific products necessary to the farms activity, providing the cooperative members with input supply and every necessary item in order to achieve a proper and effective management of coffee production.
